Kimberly Edwards brings 30 years of dedicated experience in elementary education to her role as a reading specialist. A proud graduate of the University of Houston, Kim earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1994. She spent 16 years shaping young minds as a first and second-grade teacher, where she discovered her passion for helping students with reading challenges.
In 2010, Kim transitioned to focus on reading intervention, specializing in dyslexia and dysgraphia. She received her training through the esteemed Region 4 program, Reading by Design. Since then, she has continually expanded her expertise through various continuing education courses in dyslexia and dysgraphia, ensuring she stays at the forefront of the latest methodologies and techniques.
Having recently retired from the classroom, Kim is now excited to extend her support beyond traditional educational settings. She offers personalized assistance to children struggling with reading and writing, and also to adults facing challenges with alexia and agraphia. Kim believes that literacy skills are fundamental to thriving in all aspects of life and is committed to motivating her clients to achieve success.
Outside of her professional life, Kim cherishes time with her family. She and her husband, Mark, are blessed with four grandchildren and savor every moment spent with them. They also enjoy outdoor adventures and cherish their time with friends. Known for her playful spirit, Kimberly loves to share a good laugh. So, be prepared for a corny joke or a playful trick when you get to know her!
